Baby Stroller/Pram - Steelcraft Agile Plus

Having a baby is one of the most exciting things that can happen in anyones life. Especially if it's your first!
As all parents want to provide the very best they can for their children, preparing for your newborn baby can be very expensive! Working for Fire & Rescue NSW, I've been advised by colleagues that you can go cheap on most items (assuming they all meet the Aus/NZ standards), with the exception of 2 things:
1. Baby car seat and 2. Stroller/Pram.
They have seen too many accidents which involve poorly fitted cheap car seats that can traumatise the strongest of men.

So... after lots of research and debating with DH, we decided to go for the Steelcraft Agile Plus.
Although I really wanted the Steelcraft Strider Compact (to prepare for #2), DH liked the Agile+ and so that is what we ended up getting.
Steelcraft Agile Plus
Since using this pram, I have come to fall in love with the pram too. A few points to note with the Agile Plus:

Pros
  • Lightweight and easy to fold and pack away
  • Comes with a capsule carrier/car seat - this is what DH and I liked most about it. LO would be able to sleep without being disturbed everytime we make a departure/arrival
  • We bought the 4 wheel Agile plus and the positioning of it front wheels are configured so it operates like a 3 wheeler. This makes for easy manouvering and steering
  • Comes with a bootcover. DH also found this a selling point too
  • Comes in bright funky colours
  • I like the magnetic view window as opposed to loud velcro
  • The additional lift tray where the legs sit come in very handy when bub wants to snooze
  • Easy recline
  • Adjustable handle height - major pro since DH is 190cm and I'm 168cm
  • Comes with sun and rain covers
Cons

  • The inside of the pram folds on the outside. This is annoying as when you need to unfold the pram, the inside touches the ground. Yuck (germaphob)!
  • Storage space - not enough
  • The roof cover bit on the pram does not come all the way down. It's OK when you have the capsule in as the capsule cover pulls down to cover everything, but once bubs outgrows the capsules, you need a blanket/muslin wrap to cover the pram
  • Can't adjust the handles so the only time that bubs is facing you is when they are in the
So overall, the pros outweigh the cons. However, I still would've preferred the Strider Compact :p
Maybe we'll get it when #2 comes...

    1. Thanks Matthew. I have since had my second bub and we tested the strider compact. Turns out i didn't like it as it was clunky. We preferred the agile twin over the strider :)
